Hybrid translation is a new technology aiming to overcome limitations of mere Neural Machine Translation (NMT) by mixing it with Statistical Machine Translation (SMT). Popular translation providers, as Google Translate, used to rely on SMT in the past. But SMT does not take context into account and, therefore, does not perform well on long sentences or ambiguous ones. NMT overcomes to this issue, but even doing that does not always provide quite perfect results and, sometimes, might require some additional insights to perform better and provide the expected outcome. We then took advantage of our solid Webit Language engine to forge an Hybrid Machine Translation (HMT) system.
