Credentials and account isolation

Every drive receives account-scoped credentials and an isolated quota-backed storage root.

Scoped usernames

MyDrive combines your numeric Webit user ID with the username you choose. This prevents credentials from colliding with another Webit customer or with another drive using the same requested name.

Webit user ID: 100001
Requested username: archive
Complete username: 100001-archive

Passwords

Passwords must meet the documented complexity requirements. The Drives list never reveals the password and displays only masked characters. You can replace credentials through Manage login.

Transport security

SFTP protects authentication and file transfer through SSH.
WebDAV is exposed through HTTPS and should always be configured with the https:// URL.
Do not reuse your main Webit account password as a drive password.
